Our Mission

Our mission is to measure atmospheric gamma-radiation at various altitudes, among with air pressure, temperature and GPS location. We are also going to have a completely standalone receiver with no required computer connection. - This helps with our end goal, the potential use in warzones and other high-risk areas where radiation might be present.

Our hardware

This is my latest project. Before embarking on this intriguing journey, I had doubts about finding all the answers. I didn’t know what tools would serve me best, and wasn’t sure what resources would be best suited for this type of work. However, months of hard work provided me not only with the answers, but also with new methods to help me explore the things that I’m most curious about. I believe that the result speaks for itself - check it out and let me know!

What is CanSat?

CanSat is an annually organized competition held by the European space agency. The competition is for students ages 14-19 and the objective of the competition is to make a miniature satellite the size of a regular soda can. The competition aims at getting students more involved in STEM. Finland hosts a national competition for all CanSat teams in Finland to decide what group represents Finland in the final competition. One team consists of 4-6 members but other students are also free to help in the building.
